Fong Leng
A film by Deborah Faraone Mennella
Fashion designer Fong Leng made a name for herself in the seventies with extravagant creations. Colorful gowns and coats with animal applications,
in leather and pleated silk, fur and rhinestones.
Child of a Dutch mother and a Chinese father who fled Communist China by boat. Fong grew up in a loving environment where she could do everything she wanted. She knew from a young age that she wanted to create - in whatever form.
