The Front Line

A documentary about Dutch UN-militants in the ‘forgotten’ Korea-War.

In the Front Line Dutch veterans talk about ‘their’ forgotten war in Korea. What got into them to sign-up voluntarily, especially considering the Second World War had only recently passed? Idealism and gratitude, but also a series of other motives were named, such as an ex-member of the Waffen-SS who speaks of ‘paying off his debt to the Dutch people’. Cohen and Van Haalen create an intriguing image of the veterans and make their feelings nearly tangible.
