One story out of a thousand

Nine stories from holocaust-survivors from the Spielberg-project with commentary by their grandchildren. In cooperation with the Shoah Foundation.

The holocaust has not only scarred the survivors for life, also the generations after them carry this heavy history with them. In ‘One story out of a thousand’ the children tell their stories. In the Netherlands thousands of witnesses from the Second World War took part in the Spielberg/project. By now, their grandchildren have grown up. How do they cope with the family history? What meanings do the experiences of their grandparents have in the choices the grandchildren make? Nine survivors from the Shoah Visual History-archive speak to us in the film. The poignant and touching moments from the stories of their grandparents, have been selected and commentated by their own grandchildren.
