Klemperer: the last concert

Klemperer: The Last concert is a film by Philo Bregstein

At the beginning of the 70s, filmmaker / writer Philo Bregstein made a unique music-historical document about conductor Otto Klemperer (1885-1973), who at the time was called the greatest director of the twentieth century. Bregstein herein recorded how an important rehearsal of Klemperer with the London Philharmonic Orchestra went, not knowing at that time that this would be the rehearsal of Klemperers last concert ever.

In 2015 Philo Bregstein has re-edited his film Otto Klemperer in rehearsal and concert and also complemented and enriched his old material with new recordings including interviews with people who have worked with the world-famous conductor. The result is the film Klemperer: The Last Concert.
