The website tells the story of the Jewish Council of Enschede who offered resistance during the Second World War.
Throughout the Second World War the Nazi’s had initiated a network of Jewish Councils throughout the Netherlands in which prominent Jews could gather. Through these city councils, a significant part of the anti-Semitic policies and measures, we put into action. The Jewish Council of Enschede did offer resistance, and with success. This website is particularly about them, but also about this dark period in the history of the Netherlands in general.
