Interakt is working on developing a new website about Ed van der Elsken.

Ed van der Elsken, the ‘enfant-terrible’(terrible child) of the Dutch photography scene – was a talented young photographer and film maker who for over forty years gave shape to individuals and cultures through photo’s, photo-albums and films. Hopping through cultural-capitals such as Paris, Tokyo, Hong-Kong and Amsterdam or travelling through Africa and Japan, he preferred to aim his camera at characterful and distinctive individuals. In 1956 he debuted with his photo-book “A history of Love in Saint Germain des Prés”, which instantly made him famous. After this, give or take, twenty other photo-books followed. He also created several television films, mostly about subjects regarding his own life.
