Dutch Masters in the 21st century

With the support from the Mondrian Fund and the Media Fund, a large number of Dutch visual artists will be filmed in their studios. The first 40 episodes are now available on a luxurious DVD-box.

Dutch Masters in the 21st century will grow out to be an extensive series of short filmic portraits of the most important Dutch artists of this time in their studios, through the eyes of established film-makers. The behind-the-scenes look offers an insight into the work of the artist's way of working, use of material and ideas about art and being an artist in modern-times, but above all into the person him/herself. The studio and whatever goes on in there form the base for the fifteen minute long films. The portraits will be available for broadcasting at regional broadcasters and for exhibitions in museums. At the moment 60 films have been finished and a fourth series is in production. For more information: www.hollandsemeesters.info and on Facebook.
