Bar'puru Yell it!

Documentary about the consequences of the domestic wars in Suriname in the late-eighties.

In Bar’puru, Frank Zichem registers the mental distress of civilians and refugees, but also of the Brunswijks Jungle Commando’s and militants. The Domestic War, the battle between Ronnie Brunswijk and his previous boss, army chief Desi Bouterse, lasted from 1986 till 1992. Hundreds of civilians and warriors fell victim; thousands of inhabitants fled. Most people have succeeded to rebuild their lives over the past twenty year, though the effects are still visible.
